Toxics Use Reduction Institute, University of Massachusetts Lowell
Toxics Use Reduction Networking (TURN) Grants 2007
Applications Due by August 30, 2007
The Toxics Use Reduction Institute invites proposals for the 2007 TURN
grants to support toxics use reduction at the community level. Any
established non-profit community/environmental organization, or
municipal department, office or agency within Massachusetts can apply
for a TURN grant. This includes, but is not limited to, neighborhood
associations, labor unions, fire and policy departments, civic
organizations, chambers of commerce, libraries, boards of health,
hospitals, health centers, and public schools. For detailed information

Toxics Use Reduction Institute, University of Massachusetts Lowell:
Community Program Manager
Application deadline: August 15, 2006
The Institute’s community program encompasses several projects,
including the Toxics Use Reduction Networking (TURN) Grants to
communities and municipalities, technical support for specific focus
areas (e.g., healthy cosmetology, healthy lawn care, safer janitorial
cleaning), and outreach to community organizations. Community
organizations include: local environmental, community and public health
organizations, municipalities, and small business within communities.
The Community Program Manager will manage the community program of the
Institute. This includes responsibility for overseeing the development
and implementation of the program’s strategic plan. He/she will be
primary source of technical information for the Institute’s community
efforts, and will have specific project responsibilities, including
management of the TURN Grants project.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical environmental or health discipline
required; master’s degree preferred. Position is contingent upon
continuation of funding to the Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction
Institute.
