Give the Gift of a Tree This Holiday Season












Tired of giving the same old sweater or fruitcake as holiday gifts?  Are 
you looking for a more meaningful gift that can help your family and 
community by helping the environment?
 
Well, look no further.
 
The City of Boston and its partners in Boston's Urban Forest Coalition are 
offering the gift of trees, a gift that could ultimately last a lifetime.
 
For $50, the City will ensure that a tree is planted in Boston as part of 
the Mayor's Grow Boston Greener campaign, which is planting 100,000 trees 
in Boston by 2020.  Trees will be planted on both public property and 
private property in order to reach our goal.
 
Your gift donation will offset the use of a Christmas tree or the sending 
of holiday cards, and is also perfect for those who are simply in the 
spirit of giving.  Trees make great gifts for both you and your 
neighborhood.  Best of all, your donation helps support trees citywide.
 
The gift recipient will receive a holiday card informing them of the 
donation made on their behalf and the donor will receive a letter of 
receipt.  The gift is tax a deductible donation to the Fund for Parks 
Department.
