Franklin Park Friends:
Tired of sitting inside and moaning about the cold? Bundle up and join us
for a Winter Volunteer Day this coming Saturday, February 3rd at 10:00 am.
We'll have hot chocolate and donuts! Wear old clothes and bring work
gloves and clippers if you have them, there'll be plenty for those who
don't. We'll cut prickly vines that are killing the young oak trees and
pick up some of the winter trash that has blown into the park. The weather
report says 30-40's and sunny, perfect weather for winter work in the
park! Meet at the Glen Road Entrance - call or email if you aren't sure of
the location.
Also - this is a great time to explore your community online - no warm
clothes needed! Check out:
www.heartofcity.info - a website with everything you ever wanted to know
about Franklin Park and nearby greenspaces and neighborhoods.
www.scidorchester.org - a new community website with events, activities,
and connections to all things Dorchester.
www.neighborsforneighbors.org - to join a "let's be neighborly" group in
JP.
and of course, www.franklinparkcoalition.org - check out old photos and
things to do in the park this spring. Click on "Let's Talk" to share your
observations of the park.
