On behalf of the Lead Action Collaborative I would like to invite you all
to attend our Annual Meeting.

When: June 21st 2:30-5:00
Where: The Medical Foundation
            622 Washington Street, 2nd Floor
            Dorchester, MA 02124

We are very pleased to have former MA Attorney General Scott Harshbarger,
Senior Counsel to the Firm, Proskauer Rose, as our keynote speaker. As
Attorney General Mr. Harshbarger was very proactive on consumer protection
and public health issues. He will share with us his insights on lead
poisoning prevention and on existing legal actions against the paint
manufacturers

We will follow Scott’s talk with an update on LAC and Boston Blueprint to
End Childhood Lead Poisoning and a review of the proposed changes to the
MA lead law. In 2006 Boston had 460 children diagnosed with elevated
blood lead levels. We have the ability to meet the CDC’s goal of
eliminating childhood lead poisoning by 2010 but we need to recommit
ourselves to the goals we set in the Boston Blueprint back in 2001. We
will use the second half of this meeting to discuss in small groups how to
reenergize efforts outlined in the Blueprint, to begin to address new
issues that have arisen since and to gain support for the pending
legislation. Come and learn how far we have come and how you and your
organization can get involved.

Please let me know if you plan on attending or if you have any questions.
Please forward this invitation to your networks and to anyone you feel
should be involved.

Sincerely,
Ryan Torres
